Detox smoothiesOver the Christmas holiday, we all indulge in over eating and maybe drinking a bit too much, so we need to get back in shape. So the best way is to start by cleaning up the inside of our body before doing anything else.Here is my best recipe for a Detox Smoothie;

What you need to have to make a detox smoothie is first, choose a high fibers fruit, like apples or pears with the peels, very important that peels, most of the fibers are in there. You can also choose bananas (without the peels) or berries of all kinds cause they have a lot of fibers to…me my personal choice is to do a mix of those fruit to gives more taste.

Second you need a high citrus fruit, like lemon, oranges or grapefruit juices (but be careful id you take grapefruit juice and medication for high blood pressure, cause that juice will interfere with your medication.) Citrus fruits are the perfect detox ingredient as they help to break up mucus and plague in the digestive tract.

Third is to choose a high fibers grain to your liking, it could be flaxseed, raw granola, oatmeal or even wheat germ, you will need about a 1 tbsp of that grain fiber that will help to gently scrape the linings of the digestive system, aiding in detox and elimination.

Now take all your ingredient and blend till smooth and then poor in a tall glass and ad a pinch of sea salt and stir with a spoon. The sea salt will help to flush your digestive organs and will also aid in elimination.

Side effect of that recipes; well be prepare to go to the bathroom often, but that is good cause you are flushing the toxins in your body…enjoy!!!

P.S; If you want to use this recipe for meal replacement i suggest that you ad 1 to 2 tablespoons of whey protein or soy protein to cut the hunger till the next meal.

    Maybe ill give this one a try, detox is great for the body and i am always up for a smoothie. :)
